PostSubject: Ferrari 312T   Fri 22 Feb 2013, 11:21 pm

I first started this build on BMC, but it got side-tracked by a curious kitten.  He decided to see what was in the box and sent it crashing to the floor.  The resulting shunt broke off several critical pick-up points and lost a number of pieces to the carpet monster. Here is where I had gotten to when the crash happened. (and the offending cat)

The result of the shunt.

Then I found another kit at a model show.  The seller was getting rid of it for next to nothing since the box had sustained water damage.  Box, instructions and decals were all destroyed.  Since I had a chance to start over, I corrected the finish on the chassis.  I had sprayed the first chassis in Testor's aluminum metalizer.  But after seeing other builds, I found out it should be shinier.  So, I sprayed this one in Tamiya TS-030 Silver Leaf.

Thanks Buck. I thought I would start this here also since it will be a while before it's done.

Since the weather has been perfect to paint in, I got the red body pieces sprayed today.

The top cowling has four sink marks at the rear of the opening. I've been working on getting those filled.

Somehow one of the injector nibs got broken off. So I drilled a tiny hole and inserted .05mm rod into it.

It's looking great Paul.

Nice recovery on the injector block.

LOL That's not hard to do with a pre-started build.
