PostSubject: 1934 Chopped Ford.   Wed 15 May 2013, 1:33 am

Well, I finished her up tonight.

I built this for a friend with a kit supplied by my friend.

This is the kit:

Take my advice, unless you are desperate to build the custom chassis, buy a different kit. Such as this one:

No way is this 1/24 or 1/25. I'd best guess it at 1/28th, Maybe even 1/30th.

Anyway, he originaly wanted it matt black but he saw sense and gave me free rein to do with it what I would. Muahahahahaha!!!!

So I took this as my inspiration:

All I used from the original kit was the body, interior, headlights and grille. Everything else came from the parts box.

The engine is a Revell Parts Pack Ford blown competition unit. Torque Thrust rear wheels with thin white wall pie crust tyres. Unknown front wheels and tyres. Chassis is a modified Model A. Unknown headers. I had to section the interior to get the stance to the extent that the original seats wouldn't fit. Parted those out for some unknown buckets. Transmission tunnel is made from 1/48 Spitfire under engine air intake. Parts box discs up front. The firewall is made from sheet styrene covered in rip off metal foil seal. Unknown front and rear axle.

Other than that, it's box stock. LOL.

I think it's beauty that just screams "OLD SCHOOL". The Candy Apple Red Paint, Pie Crust Slicks, Spindle mount front wheels. I super job on a show and go rod.

Beautiful Al. For all the difference of opinions, I think that firewall is great. That parts pack engine really sets it off too. Overall, one of your recent best.

I agree that this is one sweet street rod.

Really great "old school" look, and again, I just love this candy apple red color. The stance and body position are just right. Fabulous work. One of my favorites also!

Nice build Al, you have made that Buttera `34 look good.

The Early Iron `34 Coupe & Roadster where the first kits I bought with my own money, I was about 9/10 years old.

Thanks guys. For all the problems, I had fun doing this one. The more so as it was built for my friend.
