Thinking of entering the Revell Contest ( Only because, just happen to have this kit on the shelf.)
Will be using a resin cowl hood.
And this will be close to how it should turn out.

Cool. Stripped the chrome with Bleech and repainted.

Found some aftermarket spoilers and a Detail Up kit for the GT.

Started to do a 2 tone interior of grey and black. Will never use Micro Mask again. Too hard to get off. Now I have to do grey touch up.

Most of the motor is done.

Used PE on both sides of the radiator.

Painted the chassis components and glued together.

Spent most the day cleaning up the rotors, painting the calipers and mating up the directional tires and front and rear wheels.

And here she sits, so far.

Lookin good, Dog.
I have had pretty good luck with Micro Mask on thinly sprayed paint. But thick paint blocks off the water needed to wash it off.

Hope to get the PE and decals on the interior and engine bay today. Then it's black and Alclad Aluminum finish for the body, then cals.

Love the look of the Mustang. I especially like those front brake rotors and calipers! What a great mean looking subject.

For masking, I have used the "Mask it Easy" product from Micro Mark. It is almost like covering the areas with a thick white glue. I spray light coats of paint, and don't spray onto the mask line directly. Sort of spray across it from the masked side towards the side that needs painting. I have also brush painted over it. I had no bleed thru, and the product sort of peels off, as it remains soft/rubbery. I did not need to use water to get it off, although it is water soluble for brush cleanup. I have covered it with lacquers, Krylon primer or model paint with no issues.

Got a good start on it yesterday.

Engine bay is ready for PE and cals.

Most of the interior is finished.

Sorted all the directional tires and rotors and glued in place.
