Anne & I are heading to Canada & the US in 2018. Late April to early June. The first month will be in Canada, on a coach tour and cruise, so we won't be very flexible. That changes in Seattle when we get a car and hit the road in mid May.
Route is Seattle (May 13-16th) San Francisco (23-26th May) Yellowstone ( 28-30 May) Mt Rushmore ( June 1-3) Colorado to Monument Valley (June 3-10th) Grand Canyon, finishing in Las Vegas (June 16-19th)

It's still a bit fluid, and I can't subject Anne to a complete Skid's Place meetup/ road trip, but it would be great if we could meet some of you!
Any takers? I can assure you I'm nowwhere near as bad as my mates claim me to be!

Have a blast Chris, pity you'll be a couple of miles high when you pass me lol, or maybe you'll go the other way round.

The best way to get from Seattle to San Francisco is down the Oregon coast, and through the Redwoods on hwy 101. You can stop in Newport Oregon, visit with me and the wife, and take in the Oregon Coast Aquarium, as well as a couple very good local brews.

Sam, 101 is the very route we're taking. The Aquarium sounds promising and the Redwoods are on the 'to do' list.
And local brews too. I always sample some.

Watch out for the 4 way stop signs!

I liked the turning right on a red light though, we should have it over here but on the left in places too.

Chris if you take 101 south you have to go right through the town I live in. Aberdeen Washington. If you would like to hook up for lunch or just a meet and greet then let me know. I can PM you my phone number and we can meet when you come through town.

This is working out really well!
Buck, Aberdeen is on on our route from Bremerton, and fits in nicely.
Sam, the aquarium sounds great, and Anne is keen too.
I'll PM my email address later on. And I'll probably buy a cheap cell phone once we're in Seattle.

Bring it on!
Chris

Sounds like a great tour! Canada by coach (and cruise) is probably the best way if you're unfamiliar with it, a big place indeed. If you get a chance to linger a bit in Vancouver I'd recommend it, though the hotels here can be hugely expensive you can also find deals on the Net.
