This one was started some time ago and I have picked back up on it lately.  This is the Russian Nieuport 11 of Alexander Kazakov, a Russian ace.

I went a little heavy with the wash around the access door so I'll have to correct that.  The vertical lines on the fuselage are done with watercolor pencils that will be further weathered over.

Now onto the rigging.

Rigging really finishes these small WWI planes beautifully. The quality of the body side molding looks okay, and with your work it'll look great. Thanx for a plane here, first in a while!

Some of the rigging done and MG mounted (Ammo ring still to be attached).  I had to make a new MG mount out of wire since the kit one broke apart trying to get the flash off.  Propeller was painted with a flesh base and streaked over with a pine colored wash.

Still a way to go.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Beautiful little flyer! The amount of detailing for a small scale kit is impressive.

Exactly! Detailing is vital in the small-scale-few-pieces models. My only comment is with the brown-yellow wing struts. Done in bright color makes them stand out, maybe a bit too much on a bland silver-grey model. I suppose it's correct, but it draws the eye to it.

This is another cleanup project.  All the cables attached and ready to go.

Completed thread to follow.
