Another start on another kits bodywork. I plan on light blue pearl over silver for this one.

A really detailed kit this with opening doors, sliding windows, trunk and metal coil springs.

All the body bits. There are quite a few dimples which I'll level off with liquid CA.

All prepared, sanded, doors wrangled to a good fit and ready to go to prime.

Watch out for the front suspension D. It will probably be too high!

Yeah thanks for the heads up. I was just looking at SR65's and 2whl's builds on this. Looks like I'm late to the party. Would you guys mind giving me a few pointers in this area please. I may as well gather some info from established builds. Thanks.

Ride height is often a flaw in kits. What I used when I available were the fotos of box art. Best o' luck on one sweet kit!!!!

Thats ok. I'm sure I'll sort it out. Ride height has never really been one of those things I've obsessed about in the past. I've got some nice photographs of Nick Masons GTO and will be following on that.

Thanks.

Paint put down. No clear required, a slight polish is all that is needed

Tamiya TS-58 Pearl light blue over a Silver leaf undercoat.
This went on really well.

Right, back to 1:24 scale. This engine is fairly detailed but still missing a few things. The valve covers seem to be too tall so I'll lower them a bit so I can get all the carb linkages in line properly.

It's an old Protar kit from back in the day as far as I know Dave, it may explain the opening panels.

I had a Revell one it looked quite nice, if a bit complicated.

Best of luck

Lovely paint David. In that colour it reminds me of a Cobra Daytona.

When I built mine I flipped the spindles and it looks much better.

A little progress with the engine. I've made the throttle linkage, return spring and fuel rail. The velocity stacks, or trumpets according to Al are really badly made, cut off at the worst point and really tiny but I'll try my best to make them as neat as possible when the are ready to go on.

These are supposed to be springs on every carb but I've just painted them as best as possible.

I don't know how I missed your request, but I do apologize. My 250 was the Testor's version, so the suspension bits might be different.  On my GTO, I didn't modify the suspension and the car sat too high.  Right after that, I built a 250 Calif Spyder and modified it's suspension to sit lower.  On the front, I simply sanded down the springs so they were shorter.

On the rear, I drilled a new hole in the bracket at the front of the springs so it would sit higher in the chassis.

The open hole is where the locating pin was supposed to go.  You can see the pin just below it in the new location.  A side view of the stance of this car looks better than my GTO.
