I think the problem with the insurance was that the Euro version of the Celica had a smaller engine so they had to create a special category for me, I think it ended up being insured as a GT-S. Bodykit? I was pleased it never got damaged. I was more worried about replacing the mirrored glass if it ever broke.
One thing, the suspension was so hard that these pot holed ridden roads went through ball joints every nine months.
Any pics of yours I can see?

Nice that you can still see a lot of the engine bay detail.

Thanks Gary. I've just spent the last week or so trying to figure out why the bonnet wouldn't shut properly. I finally tracked it down to the throttle cable.

That stressed me out, new laptop!  Why do they change things...

Fabulous work, nice paint, how are you doing the black trim?

Al, I think I still need a normal policy to get classic insurance on a second car,it's not the same rulz as the UK, but I'll check it out.

I do the trim the good old fashioned way. Brushed on by hand.
Car looks fun to drive.

" Why do they change things..."

If everything is done and working properly.....someone needs to justify their existence.

The windows are just sprayed from the inside with silver after the black borders were painted on.

That's what I thought, but why if I may ask?

We had all sorts of Jap imports here back in the day and I don't remember silver windows, just asking boy!

Well, fellow me lad, the mirrored glass was part of the official Toyota SS3 upgrade pack. They are not actually opaque and function like any other tinted glass and I think it looks rather good on it. I must admit, I can't recall having seen it on any other cars. Part of the uniqueness I guess, or just being flash.
