Made some more progress this week.  Got a large portion of the interior done.  I had intended to just do a tan interior but my wife convinced me to go white with red trim.  As it turned out I think she had a good idea.

It is hard to see in this photo, but I tuck and rolled the package tray with 0.080 half round.

Got the finish on the body done and applied the Bare Metal Foil on.

There is still quite a bit to do.  The engine is going to be a flathead that has been converted with Ardun heads and will be plumbed.  I have to scratch build the exhaust system also.  We are probably looking at another three weeks or so until the car is finished.  Updates will be as appropriate..

Not sure. Bright interior contrasts with black exterior. I would've gone with some exterior decals (white or red pinstripes, or flames). Interior and wheels do perk up the model fer sure.

NOT black. Scale Finishes Kawasaki Ocean Blue. Meant to be a mild custom as was common in the 60s. Personally I do not like flame decals. Unless they are applied by an expert, which I am not, they cheapen the appearance of the model.

Ah, sorry! It is almost a midnight blue. Flames are a matter of personal taste and decals frequently are both too basic in color and don't necessarily fit the model size and shape. Seats are almost a tuck and roll look, making them fancier than a single color.

Awesome look; interior matches wheels very nicely. Looking forward to that flathead!

Totally agree with John on the flame decals. I HAVE seen some done really well. but most times it puts the models appearance in the realm of gluebombers.
