Nice to see! So many villages in U.K. and Ireland. We in the U.S. have to get pretty far into the countryside for anything like a village. Many writers there praise the beauty and tranquility of village life. One can see it in films too, from the original "The 39 Steps," to ones like "Waking Ned Devine," and others old and new. The landscape itself looks very old and brings ancient times to life in one's imagination.

Isn't anywhere in Scotland with a population of over three a city Colin?

You don't know how true that is ....

The town in England where I grew up has 65000 people in it .. and that's out of term time as it has a huge uni and college.

There are three towns up here nearby that are about the same size if not larger .... the most densely populated one has just under 10k  ..... my little village has about 1200, if you count the little extra hamlet type places nearby (as they do in most surveys)that takes it to just under 3.5k ....

Saying this Edinburgh now has more than Iceland in total ...lol

Stunning place Collin. I like the beaches in the north, white sand and crystal clear turquoise water.

If it was on the south road in then there's a Buchanan hotel there from looking at Google .. apparently this was where the salmon leap was ...
