That Escort kit looks pretty neat Al. I think its a kit a lot of people have been waiting for.

Speaking of waiting... I am still waiting on the 3 Moebius 65 Comet Cyclone kits I pre ordered back in December of 2014...

I am going to use one of them to build a model of my old drag car. I have collected all the special parts and pieces and just need the kit to be released. They are saying June of this year now.

Here is my latest addition to the collection of parts. I bought some custom made decals (4 sets). They weren't cheap but I really want this build to be special.

Went to a model show with vendors section. I Was a vendor myself. Sold a bunch, and brought home these. Did some trading for most of them.  The Enthusiast 1967 Porsche 911 was one I never thought I would get. Got a sweet deal on the other two Porsches as well. The 1/16 Anniversary Firebird was sealed bags, but the body was crushed. Two tables down I found a body. That was wild. lol  The little Honda is a sweet bike. The Olds and the Roadrunner were raffle prizes.

Nice haul there Sam and a bit of good luck on the Firebird body.

A friend of mine offered me this kit which the roof is caved in right in the middle, regardless I gratefully accepted the offer. I put a stir stick between the body and the roof to see if it will get its original shape back. If it does I will do a few upgrades to the kit and if not I will have a go at a first junker.

Those Enthusiast Porsche 911's go for a few quid Sam, I know someone looking for £45 Sterling each for a few different versions.
A quick google says that's about $65.

Al, that looks right up your ally, yours will probably turn out just as if not better.

Sam, wow some great kits there.

Denis, that is one bad ass looking truck, the box art looks like it could be somewhere in Fruita, Co.

Here's my little haul today, just went in for paint and glue, doh.
Came across some wild graphics and seat pattern decals. Might have to see about working them into the Willy's build.

Curt I saw a Camaro done up entirely with those decals in Scale Auto mag. It looked damn awful IMHO. I think it would be cool for a hood or something to add to a build. Pretty successful trip for you.

Thanks Denis. If I use them they will be blended and shaded, too stark to be used as it. They need a fade or colour specified areas laid down first to isolate some of the graphics.

Simulating the "shrink-wrapped" ads on vehicles and race cars, I'm not sure of it either. I suppose it's not so different from lace patterned 1970s customs. It is a matter of taste, but can be too much.

A trip to Micheals brought home some more lace and some cheap brushes.

The posti brought everything else. I picked up the tiny jars off evil bay out of China, $3 for all those. I have always hated mixing paint and having no where to store just a tiny bit, so I ordered some. 1ml and 3ml, I think I have more coming in 5ml sizes too.
The Tamiya jar is for size comparison.

Wow, u have a few brushes there! The Willys kit is a good one. I wish the model companies would come out with some gassers with more unusual bodies. It seems like if builders want anything different, we have to go to specialty resin bodies, which can be hard to work with and adapt to frames and running gear. Wish u well with this one!

Don't forget to smear some Vaseline (petroleum jelly) on the cork so get a decent seal Curt ... It's not totally airtight, have used those type before for some insect samples in isopropyl alcohol (specimen preservative) and those not sealed with Vaseline went off after a month or two due to evaporation.

Nice little haul there matey.

Harron I totally agree, although with a bit of work and a solid front axle pretty much any kit can be modded into a Gasser. There was a guy on another forum that only built Gassers, he turned everything he built into a gasser with very little mods.

Colin, thanks so much for that tidd bit. I never knew that. This is what I decided to do after reading your tidd bit. I just dipped the top in latex. I have a bunch of stuff I stopped using for liquid mask because it kept ruining brushes. I now have a use for it. Thanks man!

Sorted then Curt ... glad to be of help.

Some newbies from uncle Al

The bus i remember from "me yoof" ..... once again, as per the cherry bomb, i'll be doing something different with it.

The jeep ..... it's Als fault, he built and posted one and it just so happened to be the one i wanted for a Lara Croft dio i had in mind .... looking at the kit though ... there's so much more to do with it than paint it silver ...

The bus is a great canvas for some adventures in painting Colin. The different panel lines can help as barriers thus only needing some liquid masking.

I'm glad they arrived safely Colin.

Just scored this of eBay:

1:12 kit which, when built, should sit nicely alongside 'The sarge!'.

I'll probably weather this one too.

I just showed that to Pam , I may have to find one to add to her stash. lol

Went to a show up in Washington and met up with Buck and his friend Bob. Had a great time. Sold all the kits I took and only bought three. Buck has the member meet pic and pics from the show.

I brought home a 1/8 "Big Tub", model T touring, a 1/12 1967 Corvette stingray in sealed bags, and a 1/12 Tamiya KTM dirt bike.
