Beautiful work! I especially like the heat staining on the exhaust pipes

Looks to be as nice as the U.S. AMT gullwing coupe of the era. Your work proves that if the kit has enuf molded in detail, careful brush painting can "bring out the best!" I'm glad this one is back assembling!

A progress update. The interior is complete.
I've been on with the felt again.

I uded a spare decal from the AMG job for the steering wheel centre as there wasn't one included.

There's a few more things I can add to the engine which weren't in the kit such as the water bag and a couple of more 'pipes' and such. I used staple metal to make the wiper mechanism.

Regards.

I'm really surprised by the interior. It looks as good in detail as the engine. Things like separate armrests and handles make the door interiors real, not just afterthoughts the model company had to mold onto flat plastic. The folded down top looks as if real effort was made to make it real also. Add up careful brush work and a good kit and magic happens. Thanx!

Thank you Harron, you always have very constructive and observant replies to other peoples work. I appreciate that greatly as I'm sure others do as well. On a side note, do you have any models yourself in construction or in completed form? I'd like to see them.

Another update.
I've polished the body with Novus 2.

Polishing is time consuming and not everybody thinks it's worth it but I like the end result. It works a lot better on cars with curves like this one so I'm not looking forward to polishing the countach with all its sharp edges.

I only need to super detail the bodywork and put the trims on and then it's finished. I really must invest in a new light and camera.

Regards.

Really fine! As to the finish on the body, I agree that a smooth surface makes a big difference. The utterly slick, polished body is one of the major improvements in models of the last few decades. Availability of very fine sanding products (paper and polishes) and waxes like "future" floor wax bring out the shine!

Great work polishing a beautiful paint job.

I don't see the need for a new camera - your lighting and photography are fantastic.
