I had a bad feeling about that Alclad lacquer enamel split personality paint. Matter of fact I've been turned off using enamels on bodies for years now. Camel Yellow should look interesting. Will you be using some sponsor decals as well?

To be fair that pic was taken after the shell hit a concrete floor, something to do with gravity.......

As to the p/u shell,it has been primed and wil be painted in the morning/afternoon ( touring cars from my local circuit so dont hold yer breath!)
It might get a few decals, depending on if I can get anything suitable for it.

Wow you really are having a string of bad luck with paint. I feel for ya buddy, stick with it. I am really liking what you have done with this. Not sure how I missed all these updates, sorry Nigel.
Man is that plastic ever thick, you could probably stand on that shell.
Good luck with the repaint.

Never a good thing when you get those paint reactions, unless of course you want a crappy looking paint job.

Following through on the thick plastic meme, you could just go at it with a wire brush to remove the paint.

Seeing the shiny spots between the tread of the monster tires, I think of the guy who once did a tutorial on sandblasting vinyl tires for a weathered look. It can be hard to reduce the gloss. The gloss on the yellow body is very good. When a body is "dominated" by a big underside and/or engine, a lighter, brighter color for it helps make it look both bigger and more noticeable. Thanx.

Lots of crazy good stuff goin' on here this time.  Great work everyone.

Finished up on this one.  Such a nice woodgrain decal supplied for the bed floor and they only supply the horizontal decals for the side stakes - no verticals.  So I painted and woodgrained them.

Another fun Community Build.
Thanks for your comments,
Mike
