Cheers gents.

Waiting for the paint to dry, as always, and starting on the diorama base. It will represent the finish line at Twin Ring Motegi. This machine finished 7th in the 1999 Marlboro Japan Grand Prix. When complete, it will be a gift for my brother-in-law. He shares the same first name as the rider; Shinichi Itoh.

Superior work! With a finish line diorama the look is even more real.

Thanks Harron.

Just when I thought I had hit the home stretch...
I have been reading that the decals are fragile; no kidding. I applied the decals for the exhaust cans. Fortunately, I placed the seam on the inside, so the damage is not readily visible.

The lower fairing gave me fits, no pun intended. For some reason, the upper radiator was preventing the lower and upper fairing from mating properly. I had to make major mods to the fairing. While doing so, I removed the paint from both sides of the upper frame due to excess handling. So now I have again applied the black base coat and will repaint with Alclad polished aluminum. Here's hoping the paint matches.

Really great work Cole, I have enjoyed following your WIP. Too bad about the redo. If you have the Spaz Stix product line available give their Ultra Chrome a go. It can be handled and does not wear off like Alclad "chrome", it can also be clear coated without losing it's effect and it can be taped. You can get it in either AB ready jars or rattle cans.
Good luck with the final assembly, hope you don't have any more fit issues.
