Super job Mike, it turned out fantastic. Way to overcome the paint and decal issues.

Nice diggers Mitch !!

Great job pushing past the problems, Mike.

I just realized I haven't posted any finished pictures.  So I took a couple......

Unusual shape, especially for a normally sleek Ferrari all add to the importance of it in any collection.  I count it a winner!

Paul: My first thought was that you missed off the rear wing, then I remembered it had that weird split jobby. Wonder what the thinking was behind that.

Great job Paul, looks just like the real deal.

Villeneuve or Pironi?

Mike: I think you did a terrific job on what looks like a bit of a dog of a kit. Nice one.

Well it's done.... for now.

Yes.... for now. It's going to form part of a race car transporter dio later in the year and I'm kinda thinking that I may display it with the engine out. So to that end the engine is not glued in.... ditto with the exhaust manifold and pipe.

The nose cone is not glued in either for two reasons. First, I am going to cut out the crappy molded in grille and replace it with some proper mesh AND I'm thinking about doing it white in order to give it a bit more visual impact.

I added HT leads to the engine plus hard and flexi fuel lines:

Considering the engine isn't in properly yet and the age of the kit, the bonnet fits surprisingly well!

That's a nice looking car AL.

That green looks close to the colour of the era ... There's some knocking around in the museum's that look there abouts.

Looking forward to the dio to take shape mate.

Thanks guys for the kind words.

Mitch.... it was going to be yellow from the start but after the paint adhesion problems, I got cold feet about it.

Silly I know and it was probably psychological. But, as Colin points out, it is an era correct colour.

As I have no driver and no navigator, I forewent displaying this one "in flight". A challenging build, but a better result than I had expected.

Nice recovery, the problems you had are not even noticeable.

You did a great job on this one Cole and the simple base creates the atmosphere of the desert.

You got any plans to add desert dust?
