Nice progress! With anything as complex as a 'tall ship' it's always best to exercise patience, especially when it comes to rigging and related parts. Looking forward to seeing the development

Looks beautiful. I would be afraid to perch it atop the sofa, though.

Hi all here is the next update I noticed a split in the vac form mizzen sail and was going to patch it with a stitched square then thought I would experiment with some super glue.

Unfortunately the superglue made the weathering go white but a coat of acrylic white and you would never know.

I've finished all the ratlines on the forecast

Hi all here is the next update seems like a lot of rigging on this but it's nothing compared to the soliel royal, and I've barely started this.

Hi all here is the next update

I'm actually quite shocked and proud, my missus just said you can't stick that in your junk yard(what she calls my spares room)she said I just can't think where to put it, maybe we could get a display cabinet.

Excellent progress!! Great repair to the sail and the rigging is coming along beautifully. Given the increasing complexity when going to the Soleil Royale I'd think that this is a great 'primer' before tackling even more (and more) rigging.

Hi all well this is shelved again for a while I've broken the (I don't know what it's called) the bit that tensions the bowsprit, I'm not actually sure how to fix it as it's very thin plastic and superglue doesn't seem to work I'm so annoyed at my clumsiness, this is the fourth time I've broken something on this kit. I will fix it, it's just annoying.

Bummer. The bit you broke are called the Catheads and the stem that extends off them are known as Whiskers. When I was rebuilding the Cutty Sark I ended up making the Whiskers out of wire and affixing them to the Cathead with epoxy as the plastic ones were just too bendy and prone to breakage.

Parts like these are always problematic in ship models as they have to endure a lot of tension force. I suggest trying to re-fit them with stiff wire - not only is it a bit stronger but when I made the inevitable errors the wire Whiskers bent without breaking.

Hope this is of some help and hope to see you back in 'the shipyard' soon.
