Propeller driven airplanes won out. That makes it simple, any plane with a prop...or two...or more, qualifies. Start date is 11/01/2015, again the build is open ended, just make sure and get your model started by the end of Nov.

That should be 'by the end of December' Sam.

I will be glad to join on this one. I have a couple of 1:72 kits that would fit the bill.

This will be my contribution. The rigging should prove a nice challenge.

I bought this one awhile back.  I love the wild paint schemes of these early pilots.  So it'll be an Albatross DV hopefully with a set of PrintScale decals.  If I chicken out of this paint scheme, there's another great one in the package.  There's also a nice PE set with cockpit details included in the kit, so no pilot in this one.

Something really neat about the "primitive" WWI planes.  Good luck to everyone.

For a 1:72 scale kit, this one has a number of nice features. PE, a masking set, and four marking options.

I've chosen the aeroplane flown by LT Charles Nungesser. The LT recorded 43 confirmed and 11 probable kills during The Great War. He died during a transatlantic attempt in 1927.

Got a little bit started last night.  And when I say little bit I mean little bits.  Boy, the PE in this kit is super tiny.

Painted the inside of the cockpit, though little will probably be seen.

PE bulkhead and junction box.

PE controls attached to framework.

Engine painted and installed.

Lots of PE for the seat and controls: belts, foot controls, joystick connection, floor compass.

And the seat assembly on the standard measurement.

I'll probably go blind on this CB.

You're making good progress Mike. I know exactly what you mean as I am also building a 1:72 from the same maker.

The basic layout for the fuselage and cockpit. As with Mikes' plane, this one also has some small bits. There are PE gauge covers and decals for the instruments. In my opinion, Eduard did a great job with the details for this small kit. The wings show the ribbing and various access panels. If the plane were being modeled with no camouflage or markings, The opaque appearance would provide a great look, perhaps similar to clear doped linen. But for now, it's time to get on with the cockpit.

A little more progress on this.  The lower wing fit into the recess perfectly with no visible gaps on top just a bit of filler on the bottom.  The tail section needs minor filling, so I placed tape next to the seam to keep from getting too much filler smear elsewhere.

Got the undersides painted with Vallejo light blue thinned with alcohol.

Tail and topside wings were painted Model Master Medium Green.

Cole is right when he said Eduard does a fantastic job on detail. Some of the PE is so small you need the fingers of a 6 month old baby to work on it.
