Having another bash at a motorcycle, this time will be leaving it OOB but with a little muck and gunk around showing a bit of wear and tear.

Box and Sprues, pretty basic but nice detailing

Started getting it together already, the tank mudguard and rear of the seat are in the shed curing after a satin (ish) grey

Just some shots of the progress, the engine will be having a slight brown wash as an extra to the grime, have given the disks a black wash and i think it gives them a used effect.

You cant really see much of this when together but i thought i'd give it a sports rear cog

Nice choice Colin. I always liked the CB750.

The wash on the disc does make it look used. Nive one.

Ash ... a wash is just a very thin mixture of paint, it "washes" into all the recesses etc giving it a grained in cruddy look when dried, i find acrylic matt paint work best.

Al, this is going to be as close as i can get to how mine looked ... including all the red boltheads / HT heads / suspension tops as was the fashion at the time ... i know .... 25 years on and .... YUK !!!

Coming together now, wheels into their respective structures ... plumbing well under way....

Tank and tail piece in grey ....

Glass work painted, thick paint on the inside gives a better effect than the transparent paint in my opinion

and exhaust ends done, what i'm trying is to replicate the chrome plate worn/peeled off in places so i'm scratching some areas of chrome off the pieces and then painting it with a gunmetal, when its dry i'll rub the paint off the smooth remaining chrome and hopefully it'll look like the duller paint is the base metal showing through

Well i had a day down south, thursday, and visited the kids and grandkids .... so strangely for me it was "on hold" for a while lol

Left it like this

When i got back i thought a good way to unwind after 300 motorway miles was to put the decals on

then yesterday i finished adding all the extras like lenses and grab rails ... then touched it up with some "wear and tear" and some "road grime"
end result was this
