A little more progress including blocking in colours on the canvas belting and pouches using MC Iraqi sand, more detailing on shadows and highlights with our three main uniform colours (mixed to form intermediate shades),  and blending using a wash of 50/50 MC English uniform and Glaze medium.
Also fixed some equipment which required some filling and I thought two of the bags looked very thin, so Ive padded them out with Magisculpt, which when dry will be carved/sanded to follow the creases of the bags.

Lovely work Gary.

If my Hanz goes twice as slowly and is just half as good, I'll be cockahoop!

Little more progress, Ive used AK Interactive true metal gold for the brass buttons and fittings and when dry (tomorrow), ill buff with a cotton bud and take a couple of close up's. (can't really see it in these pics). Seems like really good stuff. Ill also fit the new shoulder tile insignia for the York and Lancaster's.
(or try LOL)

I got 3 of the AK True Metal paints the other day, tried it on Saturday, first impressions were that the 30 minutes drying time is not enough, also (though I did not try it) probably would be better to put a few light coats on because as you buff it, the paint comes back off.

Im leaving it overnight Ash, I've found that metallic (oil or wax based) paints NEVER dry in 30mins. And you make a great point about putting on enough to allow buffing, think Ill give it another lick now just to be sure. Thanks for the idea my friend.

He's looking terrific Gary. Great work.

Would the buckles and pouch press studs also have been brass?

I tried the AK stuff six months ago but wasn't impressed. Maybe as you say, I didn't give it long enough to dry properly!

Yes i believe so Al, its the first time Ive used these paints so Ill see how it goes. Giving them a buff later and fitting the shoulder tiles (also brass), going to try using 2mm photo etch letters, so Ill take a couple of close up pics.
