PostSubject: Audi Quattro Revamped...   Thu 30 Apr 2015, 8:40 pm

Hi all,

I built this many years ago and it's the only one that has survived all my moving around and last year I thought I would revamp the shell and tidy her up a little...

Hope you like...: -

All stripped down, sadly the rear lens broke when I was taking it apart (sorry forgot to take before photos)...: -

Ready for spraying...: -

Sprayed...: -

I tried to do a ghost stripe, but, it didn't quite work out as I wanted, but left it as it was...: -

Interior with flocked floor...: -

All finished...: -

Under-body shots...: -

Pride of place...: -

Thank you for looking, please comment (both good and bad please)...

Andy...

P.S... You'll love this kit Ash, so will look forward to seeing yours come together... popcorn

Nice work Andy, was this the rally version ? Looks like it was with the roll cage and minimal interior.

I like the colour you chose for the fresh up.

I'm turning mine into the Pikes Peak version with full scratch built body kit so probs by the end of it I will never want to scratch build anything ever again lol

Hi Ash,

Thank you Sir, it was the same kit as the one you've just got, but sadly bits went missing over the years, so looking forward to seeing yours come to life now...

Nowt wrong with that at all.

Nice colour and detailing... I think the stripe looks pretty decent in the head on photo and overhead shot

Top job pal, nice to see you back and doing Andy.

Hi Colin,

Thank you Sir, I'm trying really hard to get my mojo back, I sit at my station and manage to do some small bits before I get tired and have to stop, but it's getting there slowly...

Thank you again...

Hi Colin,

Roger that Sir, my last treatment really knocked me for six, seems like just as I'm starting to feel better, it's time for my next one...

As for the colours, I used my airbrush, painted the body silver first and then taped the center of the bonnet (hood), laid down a couple of coats of the blue then removed the tape and applied a couple of coats all over...

It worked well, Might give it a try with rattle cans in the near future (still don't want, need or have an airbrush lol)

Nice pix.  I am surprised at the underside view.  Tamiya really cut costs on that model, sadly.  Their earlier Fiat 131 Abarth had much better detail overall.  That's what some companies do.  Great work on your part and the ghost stripe does show well in that head-on foto.  Nice work, fer sure.
