I started this one in about 2005, It went in and out of the box for almost 4 years. I just couldn't seem to finish it.
Have ya'll ever had a build like that? Anyway, I hooked up with a guy named Chris on another board in 2008 and he spurred me on to complete it. i'm glad he did. I am pleased with the result.  I started with a very rough resin cast body meant for slot cars. I used a pro stock Camaro Chassis that I modified until it was unrecognizable. LOL!
The paint is House of color Purple and parts box decals were used. I used a parts box Top fuel Hemi and a resin blower hat.

You can only post pictures with IE, doesn't work with Firefox. Hope that helps.

Dig it Max! I can't imagine a resin body being used for a slot car, they weight a ton. Sounds like it was a Jimmy Flintstone body

That's a good point, I was told it was made for slot cars. If I remember correctly it was a Reliable resins piece. It's fairly heavy and was pretty thick. I had to do quite a bit of thinning to get it to look somewhat correct. The body was a one piece deal that I cut the front end off so the engine could be shown.

Sounds like my kind of build Max, nice job on the massaging of the body and making the decision to cut it up.
Usually the true race car bodies are vacuum formed. I would guess there might be a class for resin bodies though with a weight limit, just makes sense.

Some of you guys may have never seen one of these beasts. Here is a video I found. I became fascinated with them the first time I saw one.
