Just a note while I'm busy opening the other door. The kits directions make no mention whatsoever of opening the doors. However there are inner door panels and hinges included.Kinda was the factor to go ahead and carve it up

Have the doors opened. Now to see how all these components will fit together

Well. that didn't take long. To keep the wheels under the front fenders, I will be raising the floor some. (cheap channel solution)......... I hope.

Sweet, the stance is so nice on this Sedan Delivery. The opening of the doors is something I have never tried. Looks good.

I'm going way  past my comfort zone here. I seldom model  full sewer view exhaust systems.
But, I'm modifying the one for this panel. Today, I'm also cleaning up mold marks on the body.

Alive and well. Guys. Just draggin my feet.
Yesterday, I mixed a little 1 Shot, fired up the airbrush and got the top painted. It doesn't show well in the photo, but it's a light greenish cream color. When it gasses out some, I'll be masking it off and shoot the bottom with some other homemade darker green.

You always manage to turn a box of nothing into a a marvelous creation of something, me I would have built it OOB, would never have thought to try opening the doors, lowering the cab etc etc.

You got skills Clay, you really do, keep it going!!!

The sun didn't want to shine when I photographed this this morning !!

But here is the color I mixed for the bottom (1 Shot). I'm naming it 'Baby Diaper Green'. It has a little gold mixed in with 2 different shades of green. T'was added to the leftover top color.

I think the two colors are going to look great with each other.

This kit is starting to show it's true colors. The windshield fit horribly. I'm already wishing I had cut the wing vents off.
The plastic rear door hinge (provided) proved to not fit or close well. I'll have to redo that with brass rod and tubing. Probably have to rework those front ones also !!!

Thank you.  Always great to see your creatures come to life.  If I remember doing mine (Monogram panel truck) all the door fits were below average.  It a good tip to test fit window glass before painting the body.  I had trouble with some for sure!  Thanx again.

Truth. The windshield glass was formed to the size of the opening with a flat place for the A pillar and continuing on to the  deflector vent. With the door open this looked terrible and made the door fit just as bad. I had to cut the wings off after I had it glued in with clear canopy cement. Managed this with 1 nick in the A pillar which will be disguised with an outside rear view mirror.
Ok. Rear door in like a champ !!!

BTW, FWIW. I have in the past used Hobby Shop epoxy that cost in the teens and would get  too old before getting used up.
Now, I'm getting a small handy hobby size that works really good. Harbor Freight - under a couple of bucks !!

In this cleverly staged foto, (except for the exposed gable end), the detailing crew is getting the '53 ready for the outside foto shoot. Look for the results in the upcoming 'finish' NMA section.
