One of the nicest of the WWII vehicle kits around. Well done so far!

Great work, Colin & well done. I'd love one of these in 1/24-5th. A wheeled version of Rommels Rod.

Thanks....

Got the steering column in and linkages attached, also attached the front dampers

Fitted the exhaust, just needs weathering in a bit and the straps painting now it's in place.

Just need to paint the wheels and fit and then i can plumb in the remainder of the pipework and brake lines

It's all looking good Colin. The weathering on the rear springs looks great.

You should consider displaying the chassis and body individually.

Might not be easily done Al, there's bits on the chassis that fit/show through the bodywork.

I'm going to attempt "doors open" which should be fun saying the fronts are "suicide" and the rear aren't, means fabricating door pillars but hey, i'm up for a laugh.

Got to piping in the brakes, just superglued in at the mo and when completely set will be routed through and along the chassis.

Spaghetti anyone???

I think I'm wired up wrong in this game, the smaller i go in scale the more detail i feel i want to (must) put in...... it's not going to end well methinks... lol

Heh! Heh! How's your knitting kid?

Nice work Colin, what are you using for the brake lines? Also, it's a little hard to tell, but have you ommitted the flexi hoses??

Brake lines are .2 mm copper wire, (a bit oversize for 1/35th but "looks" about right)

I'm going to cheat on the fronts and just paint the ends black to look like rubber flexi pipe

There aint no flexies on the rear

The work is still looking great, Colin.

I've worked in 1/32 and I'd be afraid to attempt a major mod like opening doors - but that's just me.

Brake pipes in place, just a few other wires and pipes to add when i know where the body fits and won't foul.

Cheers Buck

Got to starting the doors, i needed to dispose of the ordered steps in the destructions and have made up what is needed of the body to get a decent dry fit on the opening attempt.

The door pillars needed support so i added the front seat backrest and fiddled with both till they supported each other in the correct position and then glued them to death.

Trimmed, shaved and re-positioned the doors till they looked ok.

a dry fit to show where i'm headed with it all.

A great look, Colin. Will they be permanently in the open position?

Yes Mike, permanently open seems the most likely, I had a bash at hinges on some spare plastic but failed on a couple of attempts, I might have a go at a "pin and tube" idea before I commit to what I've got now.

Thanks Al, I'm getting there.

Opening doors can really be a pain. I like the look of them open. Nice work.

Finished some of the interior today...

Gave the seats some chrome strips as an added detail, any rough edges won't be seen when in situ

the bonnet assembly painted and chrome strips added, just handles and levers to add now ... need painting silver first.

Petrol tank has a nice shape and detail to it.

Ooo like the brake pipes Colin, looks very real, bravo!

What you using for the chroming, is it BMF or some mystical concoction of silver paint and bits of mirror or summat?

It's from sheets of stick on "graphics" from hobby craft, some sheets have long lengths of strips so I use those. I'll pop a piccie up tomorrow if I remember.

Thanks mate

Heres the sheets of chrome and gold "trim" i make use of Ash

Got the interior mostly in place today, scratched some grab handles up out of copper wire, added more chrome trim (still a few more bits to add to tidy up edges etc), "texture painted" a grey carpet.
Stuck the bonnet in place to see what the overall effect would be like ... i'm pleased.

The foot pedals were individual and minute !!!! spent matchhead for scale

Another museum quality model here! We'll have to see if it has smoke coming from the exhaust when finished!
