PostSubject: New Community Build Rules   Sat 07 Feb 2015, 4:08 am

After much discussion, and observation, we have decided on tweaking the CB's yet again. (hopefully this will be the last, lol ) I do not know if it was Al, or Buck who suggested it, but I am excited over it none the less. (thanks guys)

We will have a new CB started every two months.

We will have a vote, one month prior to the CB, so as to help tailor it to the wishes of the members.

The CB's..... WILL NOT HAVE A FINISH DATE. That's right, they will be open ended. We realize that not only do each of the members have a different building speed, but that life often interrupts our schedule and can make dead lines difficult. The CB's are supposed to be enjoyable, the hobby is supposed to be enjoyable, so lets make it so.

Along with that mind set, we are also going to allow stalled wips to qualify. If you have a wip that has sat on the shelf for.....lets be honest here, YEARS.....and it qualifies for the build, then dig it up and finish it. Maybe this is the extra nudge needed to do just that.

The only requirement is....that you join in the CB in the first two months. Before, the next CB gets started. We don't want somebody joining in a year later, after the CB has been started.

Any and all discussion is welcome.

Those two ideas are brilliant suggestions. I sometimes shy away from CBs because I have something else on the go and having a few kits on the go doesn't lead to great results in my case. It has happened a couple times that I had something started that would fit the theme so being able to pull a stalled kit or already in progress can definitely help us in keeping things a little tidier.

I think this will increase the participation as well as completion rate.

That is exactly what we were trying to do. Open up the rules so that more people could get involved. So now there is no time restraint to worry about, Started kits are a go, Your build is welcome into MOM and best of all everybody wins.

Any more input on this is welcome.

And no Curt, I have not made progress on my 'Merc. I suppose I should remove the body from the D.O.T. 3 tub.

After two months there shouldn't be any paint left
