Not a brilliant kit considering its new out, not sure if it was a remake or original but either way it could be better.

Parts don't fit properly in places so need modifying and lots of flash to get rid of and the tyres are dreadful.

Perhaps its just me getting used to the Tamiya kits?

I know what you mean about the Tamiya kits. They are so well engineered, and the fit and finish are second to none!

We really do get used to them!!

The only Revell kit I have on my wish list is coming out early next year.. The car transporter trailer, then I need a truck for it but will look into a different manufacturer for that maybe Italeri if they do the one which Im after.

After that its Tamiya all the way for me.

Good luck with it Ash.

BTW... it's an old kit. You must have a repop.

goes together easy but also easy to get out of square.....make sure you have the room to display it.....i never have, been packed away in the loft since i did it lol

just remember that its also an excuse to do six cars to go with it lol............and thats when the whole thing starts to get expensive

Ash: I can understand you getting spoiled by Tamiya. They make a beautiful kit. Unfortunately they make very few kits that I build so I'm stuck with old AMT or Revell. Both can be a challenge, but both can also build into a beautiful car. Don't write them off completely.

That looks great Paul, I will try Colin and Shay

I still have a few in my stash Mr J, and the GT500 cop car I did was a Revell and that was much better than this, Al knows his stuff so It will be an old one in a new box.

I didnt realise it was a repop which is why I was very surprised when it started fighting me thats all.

Body painting tomorrow weather permitting.

I've considered this kit from time to time. They are usually a little pricy. Show us a lot of pixs please.

You're making the most of a very aged kit Ash. Keep at it.

Good going, Ash. The body looks like it will make a good looking curbside shelf piece.

After getting along so well with my BMW it all had to come to an end eventually... Unfortunately in not a very good fashion, The decals have killed the build!!

Too many and too large for an amateur like me they didnt take well to the contours of the body and imploded causing massive hemorrhage to sleek lines of the BM, now its on the shelf all a mess. I need a new decal sheet and perhaps some microsol and definately more experience in massive decal work as this was a total failure.. Bummer!

Old kits can certainly have decal "issues!" I think somebody once wrote that with old ones a light coating of clear (lacquer?) sprayed on the sheet and let dry before using helps. Is that right?
As for the kit, it looks like the European one from Italian (?) maker Esci. They were cheapies and not up to high standards. More of a curbside look. However, their little Lancia endurance racer had a great engine and pretty good detail. Weakness was always in so-so suspension and interior detailing.

The kit was a Revell version, not sure if they bought the design and tooling from elsewhere, but I was gutted... Its a skill lvl 4 apparently which I assumed meant with the colour mixing as there are many colours to be made to create an accurate replica.. I now presume it means decal work as the colour scheme was straight forward.
