Thanks guys!

Got some work done on the dash!  BMF work done.

Gauges and knobs detailed.  I decided to keep the dash colour for the gauges instead of black. I added some future wax since.

I'm working on a lot of different components to round everything up and pushing on towards final assembly.  Still lots to go though.

Looking great Denis, have you considered vinyl for the pinstripe?
For example:

Thanks guys!

Gary - I don't know if that stuff is anything like the one we have here, if that's the case I find it a bit on the thick side.  I'm still working on some stuff with the stripe, see how it goes.

I started doing some assembly.  I couldn't wait to see what the bed would look like in the box so that's where I started.

Since I was there I figured I'd have a peek with the interior on the spare frame too.

More to come soon!

Thanks guys! Glad you like what you're seeing.

I had a set back in assembly and an inner fender slipped and got glue on so I stripped both and in the process of painting them as well as sorting a couple of things out after taking a few days off building.

Thanks Al!

Curtis - Easy peasy! Just a minor set back that's allowing me more time to tinker with some finer details.

PostSubject: Re: 3100 Chevy Custom   Mon 13 Jun 2016, 5:43 am

Al had some problems with the ride height and John J. told me he had issues with the cab/interior fit which I had looked after early in the build and before I tweaked some things with the interior then I stopped building for awhile and never thought of checking the ride height again after the mods.
Now that I the fenders installed and getting ready to put the wheels on I am having the same ride issue Al and try as I might, finding a way to lower it now is pretty much impossible without taking a lot of things apart which I am not ready to do.
The only I can see gaining 1mm at best will be to shave off a little at the front of the inner fender.

I have also been battling the Future or Pledge floor care (as it is called now) from pooling which had never happened to me before. I bought a new bottle thinking mine was too old, diluted it with water, tried airbrushing and hand brushing to no avail. Finally it came to me to just do the one half until it had dried and then the other instead of doing the whole windshield at once and things are looking good and EVENLY drying.

The other thing I have been tinkering with is the stripe. I had it down to 1mm pretty cleanly but thought it was a bit too much still.

Next I free hand cut a stripe which clearly looks better and much closer to the result I'm after.  The problem is the graphic tape is white and although it is very thin because it is white next to red it stands right out so it needs to be painted after it's cut but before removing from the back.
it's such a pain in the butt I might not bother.

Hopefully I will march on and make progress this week.  Thanks for looking!

Now ya talking right about the stripe Denis. MUCH better.

BUT...

... don't you dare 'not bother'...... you'll only regret it later.

I've done this in the past.

Lay the tape on a piece of plasticard. Cut to desired width. Remove tape either side. Spray desired colour to blend in the edges.

I also use this method when making masking tape seat belts.

Works well with Tamiya tape.
