I managed some progress on my '69 this morning...foiled the window surrounds and the interior is finished.
The original low profile tyres have been replaced by slightly taller rubber,
as I remember my Mustang to appear walking on tip-toes.

The tyre damaged clear screens need to be the next things to address, and finish the engine.

Got the roll cage done

and the dash is still removable to add the seat, steering wheel and shifter.

With the body set on to check the fit with the body which needs to come down a little bit

after I get a few things adjusted then take off the front and rear susp. ( white glued on ) it might go to the paint shop for the chassis, int. and a coat of primer on the body. Still haven't figured out a color for this yet, might go either silver or orange or some other color I have in the paint shop !!

Till next time

Been there and done that ONCE Ash, not much fun.

Got the body and hood primered this morning and but the paint on this afternoon, went with Silver Pearl Metallic, 68 Ford code # L

and the hood

need to wait 3 to 4 days for them to dry good and see what it looks like on the chassis which I will be finishing up while the paint dries

Just caught up on everyone's build. I apologize on my end for not getting my build going, but I had to tear down my work bench to take care of a mold issue in the walls. I am hoping to get things back together within the week.

Ash: Bondo certainly won't be going bankrupt as long as that mustang is still a WIP. However, its really starting to take shape and I like where its going. Maybe throw on a light coat of primer to see where you are with the body work. I find that a light coat of primer brings out imperfections that are difficult to see on white styrene and filler.

Ron: The progress on your Mustang is going pretty well. The red and black scheme is a classic look and one of my favorite especially on the '69! One of the best looking Pony's in my opinion!

John: I am really liking your dragster 'stang. That massive engine and those velocity stacks make it one mean machine! The silver body color is looking good as well!

Phew...finished in time !
It was a struggle and the kit fought me every step of the way, but the '69 Mustang is done at last.
The MPC kit is not the best model in the world and crude by modern standards,
with poorly fitting parts, and damaged glazing in my case,
- but I eventually managed to polish out the tyre impressions on both the screens after unsuccessful attempts to fit clear acetate.
The interior is actually of an earlier model, but it'll do. Fitting the interior tub and body together was hit and miss,
and the chassis detail is poor, however, I have added a few bits of detail to the engine bay to give it a bit of a lift,
but the block is too small and should fill the space. The disappointment of this kit kinda' fuelled my loss in interest,
which was a pity because I had been chasing this kit for a while
- but it's done, and I have another 3D image of a 1.1 car I once owned, if only briefly.
