Hi guys,

Here's my first bike so far, need to repaint it though and change a few things, leaving the frame work as it i think even though its not accurate.

If that is a Tamiya kit, you will be hooked. I like their bike kits better than their cars. lol

Yeah Sam its a Tamiya and holy mackerel, you get all sorts in this kit!! screws, screwdriver, hose and tubing for the brake and clutch lines..  This is really good and for once the Mrs actually likes my work on it.. So far so good!!!

That's coming along well, Ash.
I built the 916 a few years ago and it makes a nice model.
I have a Kawasaki in my stash that I've been tempted to start,
but I must finish off some of my WIPs first.
Keep the pics coming.

Thanks Ron :)

If all bikes are like this with regards to the detail and kit contents I will sure be doing another one..

Looking through various forums there are some amazing ones out there which look incredible when done correctly. If you get round to doing your Kawasaki then be sure to do a WIP

Nice work Ash. Tamiya bike kits go together well.

Are you keeping it 'unofficial' black ?
Nice Bike

...but of course, in real life, your wrists, back of your neck and small of your back ache after an hours riding.

Thanks Chaps

Yeah it will be staying that colour though may remove the fairings and try polishing it.
I messed up the front screen though, used tamiya smoke which looked good but took too long to dry and I put my finger in it when fitting the screen to the front cowel.. Gutted!!

Rats!
You could paint it gloss black, and polish it up - heavily tinted screens don't look much different,
besides, the screen is too low to tuck behind and see through anyway.

Its an option I suppose, thanks for the idea.

will sort it out tomorrow, one way or the other (other being, try touching it up with more smoke)

Use a metal polishing cream (autosol)  to rub off the smoke,  then wipe it,  wash it and give it another coat of smoke,  it'll not look much different.

*edit* whitening toothpaste could do the job, it's a mild abrasive after all. I use it to "frost" clear plastic parts to give a "slightly dusty" effect

Not tried the toothpaste trick yet but its on my list of things to try.

I messed up tinting the rear windscreen on the Celica I just finished and used tamiya thinner to remove the smoke but I'm outta thinners though now.

will pull it off tomorrow and see what I can do... Fortunately its stuck on with pva glue so shouldn't be difficult to take off
