I don't know about everybody else, but I have soft spot for Die-cast model cars, particularly Hot Wheels.
Some years ago I amassed a collection of well over 3,000 cars before I decided to sell them on,
but hung onto about 50 good ones.
However, while out shopping with my wife yesterday, I came across these two beauties:
a '65 Mercury Comet Gasser, and a '63 Plymouth Belvedere Hemi.

I fear it might be the start of another collection ?

I have all the singles and box sets of the "batman" hotwheels packed away in the loft... Don't think there's any new ones yet.

If I see anything classic looking though, I'll pick it up and stick it in the box.

I like that 65 mercury.....

I still remember my first introduction to them. They were so fast compared to the Matchbox cars,
and much cooler subjects too! Bright colours, chrome.

Sensory overload for a 10 year old on holidays from New Guinea!

I have about a bunch of them in a spare display cabinet. I never have counted them.

Back in the late 60s or early 70s the CHP gasoline contract was with Union Oil.  At that time the Union stations were giving away a Hot Wheels car with every fill up.  Needless to say, just about every one of us had all of the cars.  Unfortunately, I gave them to my nephews as I got them and of course they were all destroyed.  I often wonder just what a complete set would be worth today.
