PostSubject: Dual engine Fueler   Fri 25 Jul 2014, 5:42 pm

With both the Big General and the Cody's panel gassing out paint, time to gather stuff from the salvage for another project.
Recalling seeing a dragster frame and a couple of Hemis in my care package, a bell rang when I came across this foto in the HAMB website.

Off the wall enough for me.

Not going to replicate this, just use the concept.  My brain starts working as soon as I wake up every morning, usually somewhere around 5 A.M. I got the idea to try for a cockpit surround before I even had my morning coffee. So, waiting for drying time, I started rounding up stuff and butchering!
The pan part is a pie cut  36 Ford hood. For the cockpit shell, I'm filling some of the wheel opening in the two fenders that came from the panel that I previously salvaged the body from. I'll be cutting and fitting, and hopefully, now that I've committed myself, fit the surround to the frame. Gonna be fun, later mounting that front engine.

Cool Clay.

I guess, since the front engine is ahead of the front axle, it's four wheel drive?

I think you are right Al. It has a 19 inch slick on all four wheels also. Good idea Clay. I with ya again. But do need to get more popcorn.

Gonna be watching closely Clay.  Another Geezermobile

By the way, is the panel/delivery in the background of photo 2 one with your homemade decals?

I know it was just for straight line action, but it must have been a handful to deal with.
Definitely 'off the wall' !

Don't watch too close, John.
I have already FUBAR'd that frame. I'll probably have to scratch one! That was the selling point to even think about attempting this build.

Yes, I made the decals for that Cody's panel. At least that turned out alright !!

Wow, what a stupid idea for a dragster AND a great idea for a model.    Better post the picture next to the completed model so that people don't think you had the stupid idea.

I wouldn't mind too much, Dave. I'm a long time generator of stupid ideas. Sometimes I make them work!

Check out some of my models.

Too true! Creativity, true creativity, means many ideas are tried. The best thing about models is, if things go badly wrong, you're not out big bucks and stuck with an unworkable project. It can just be recycled into the "parts" box! Good luck on one of the most unusual dragsters. I'd prefer the '50s side by side twosome I think Jack Chrisman drove. There was a Y.T. video of the driver's view of a run, frightening!!

Save your popcorn for a bit fellas.
I'm finding myself not too anxious to build a complete frame and the fenders that I was going to make the canopy surround from are not lending themselves too kindly to my idea.

On the back burner.
I am exploring ideas with new stuff from the care package.

Going thru some HAMB vintage fotos this morning, I came upon this.
Taking it for an omen, I may give this idea another go. Please don't hold me to it. I still can't see any controls for the front engine. Rear tires are smoking. 'Y suppose the front is a dummy for show?
Imagineering will have to come into play here.

C'mon Clay, drag yourself into the 21st century.... all the front engine controls are WiFi....

I agree with you Clay. If the front engine were running the slicks would be smoking. Make you wonder don't it.
