Box and sprue shots (already painted the roller wheels on sprue)

Minimal flash ....yippeeeee !!!!!

Will be building this OOB, i quite fancy going for the Australian colour scheme instead of the "normal" triple colour British version...... just to be a bit different.
The Aussie scheme is just a plain Khaki drab though ........ we'll see how it goes.

Been having a browse and found this .... as i like to do things "outside the box" this is the way i'm going.

A "stone wall" camouflaged Matilda .... Malta circa 1942.

so ... as per usual .... it's not OOB !!!

Man you have to say somebody in the British Army was really inventive.  That paint job is something you definitely don't see every  day.

thanks guys.

For Als' benefit mainly i'll pop the destruction part up that correlates with each step, should give you an idea whats what.

progress today, not much but it's an F1 weekend :)

wheel assembly was fiddly as the fit was quite bad, had to trim off (and thin down) a bit of plastic (not flash) so it went together reasonably straight.
painted the inside roughly as it would have been difficult when together. it'll be having a stone colour overpainted for the camo pattern.

The main body went together very well, really didn't even need clamping as you see here (but have done out of habit).

In real life the thing was so small! I'm not sure that stonewall paint is attractive, but since it was done at least once, why not do it.

You're right Ron, it's not the most attractive or complicated of camo patterns but i'm one that like to build things that aren't the "norm"

The turret, a few fiddly bits, no majour trimming though, very little flash indeed, just a few areas to trim now its together (like the turret hinges), the detail is very well reproduced.

The detail on this little model stands up to a nice and liberal "slapped on" (as it would be) base coat.
i have to say i'm pleasantly surprised.
again, just a few areas needing tidying up before a thinner top coat is applied.

Just these bits to get together now before weathering and detailing, the exhaust system is painted in revell rust with a bit of bi-carb blown on for texture.

The tools aren't too badly detailed when picked out, look better to the eye.

started the weathering and painting on the tracks, simple matt black with a dark brown wash and some bi-carb blown on that will soak up the next lighter brown wash they get before being attached.

Ok this is tedious ..... hard on the eyes ...... did i mention tedious???
Its trying to get the "dodgy hand painted" look without looking like "dodgy hand painted"
