PostSubject: Aleen's Tacky Glue -- clear   Sun 20 Jul 2014, 8:01 pm

I came across this recently:

It works at least as well if not better than canopy glue for holding glass.  It comes clear from the bottle and dries absolutely clear.  I've used it on two cars now with excellent results.  Best of all, a 4 oz bottle costs about as much as a small bottle of canopy glue.  I got mine at Michael's, but I'm sure other craft shops carry it.

I use it also. Mine comes out of the tube white, but turns clear. I think I got it at Wal Mart.

Thanks for the HU John.

I normally use 2 part clear epoxy which dried clear and has much better adhesion than canopy/white glue.

Might give this a try though as I can get it here in the UK.

2 part epoxy has been the standard for clear plastic, but the clear water-based glues work too. Only thing I wondered about was the water-based stuff stays stickier than epoxy and may collect dirt and dust over the years.
