PostSubject: VW Kubel ?   Mon 14 Jul 2014, 6:16 pm

A few weeks ago my son handed me a 1/24th scale Volkswagen Kubelwagen saying:
'...Bought this, started it, bored with it, ...do you want it?'
As I'm not in the habit of turning down free kits, I gladly took it off his hands,
and within 2 hours I had it painted.

.....I managed to finish the car at the weekend....and the reason it's not in the Military section !

...Surfs up !!

Missed this the first time around Ron.  Great idea.  I can just see it driving up the beach in So. Cal.

The absent MG 34 or 42 machine gun is my only issue! I like it.

It will go on the list of 'kits I'd like for something different to build'

Any engine pics, Ron?

Cheers,

Chris

Gun toting surfers....never!  Peace, man !
I even added a padded bar where the spandau was originally fitted.

Sorry Chris, no engine detail.
The kit was part built when I got it, and that included the engine behind a glued engine cover.

Thanks for all the comments.

Awww. so sweet! Fast work, fer sure. I'd go for a different paint scheme, but it mocks the intended war use, "Make Waves, Not War!"
