That's a nice and crisp job, I personally think the white fits in nicely, even if it is a touch faded down.
Cant comment on the decals as I have zero knowledge of what, where and how they go, All I can say is what's on at the moment look like they belong.

The 'Baccaruda' is looking fine to me.
Okay, the red shouldn't outline the wheel arches, but it sharpens up the look, and I'm sure Mr.Sox and Mr Martin wouldn't mind.
Good thinking on the stripes too.

Funny car is looking good.

The Sox and Martin car doesn't look bad at all. The decals may not be perfect but they work quite well.

Looking good John.

Mike.... you are being to hard on yourself my friend. It looks great to me and I think the white around the wheel arches, actually enhances the colour scheme!!!

All the cars are looking great.  Now I need to step it up and get mine further along.   With that in mind, I got the front end assembled.  The thin radius rods and small contact patches made for a fiddly assembly, but it's done.

It's looking great Paul.... I like it. Front ends like that really are a bitch to attach sometimes but you did good with this one.

Getting a little closer to the end here.

Interior is done.  I used black embossing powder for a carpet.  The JoHan model had almost non-existant detail on the door panels.  Added safety belts to the racing seat.

I have to touch up the gloss on the roll cage here.

Got the motor into the chassis and the distributors clear the hood.  Whew.

Mock up of the stance which looks pretty good.  I had a pair of styrene monster slicks which looked better, but somehow they disappeared between the Grumpy's Toy project and this one.  The body appears a little forward in the pic, but I have enough play to move it - the radiator wall isn't in yet.

Thanks for looking.

Of all the Sox and Martin cars this one is my second favorite. You are doing it Great Justice. The 69 Cuda was my favorite.

Well, I'm calling this one done.  Since the last post, the "Mechanic" graphic that's supposed to be below the Sox & Martin name disintegrated totally and was not salvageable.  The nickname "The Boss" on the scoop also cracked, but went on in multiple pieces pretty well.  I was going to use the Fred Cady multi part versions of most of them, but for some reason all the parts weren't there.  I'm thinking there must have been a second sheet because either the yellow inserts or the black outlines were missing and it included various Dick Landy pieces on the same sheet.

I also added some touches under the hood once the body was attached to the chassis.

So for those of you wanting to spend big bucks on the JoHan version, I'd advise Don't.  It has the dual distributors, coils and stripped down underhood panels.  But the decals are terrible and too small.  You'd be better off buying a '71 Hemi Cuda and some Slixx decals and end up with a better rendition of the Sox & Martin car.

Thanks for looking and your comments.

Completed build shots will be posted soon.

Mike
