Anyone up for an extreme weathering challenge???

In all honesty I could finish that Integrale to look like that and I wouldn't be trying for a weathered finish.

Bit of orange peel on the paint. I'd wet sand it with 1200 grit.

What vehicle is it?

It looks a bit Toyota/Isuzu to me ??
but modelling one of those would be a challenge too far - methinks.

I am not sure of what the vans Ron mentioned look like, but I do know that it is not a VW bus. The window shapes and combinations are not that of the VW.

i believe its supposed to be one of these, we'd call it a samba bus.

Colin, but look at the lower rear corner of the front. It is curved, and the VW bus is not. And there is a small window between the front door and the side doors, which the VW also does not have. I am pretty sure it is something else.

There's little differences for sure, i just presumed they could be down to being battered about and a build up of rot and sealife.

I'm not disagreeing with you as i'm no expert on VW, just had a browse around to see if i could find out what it was, the website stated microbus so i posted such (allbeit i forgot to add the link ..... lol)
i had a further browse and a few other diving sites state it's a samba, vw minibus etc etc.

the front does look like a toyota hiace though, like Rons supposition.

i would imaging all the vehicles used in the reef are listed, along with registration details, in a log somewhere .... wonder if it's online ....... i'll have a good old shufty around when i get a spare half hour.

Is not a VW, look a the small window behind the door or a the deflector. It looks a Econoline od A1000, maybe stuff made for the Saouth America market. It depend of the route...

With what looks like a single side door and the small vertical side window, probably not a VW based thing. There were a number of odd Japanese and even South American vehicles we never saw in the U.S. The stubby front nose (like a VW van) makes it not American based. Who knows!

If you look at the black and white image there's a little vertical window that's the same shape, looks like a thin divider between this and the main site window, the barnacles etc would thicken this strut somewhat, if that makes sense.

I'm not pushing that it is a vw, because I don't know, I'm just going on what I've read, there's no other vehicle type mentioned in any site I've looked at that offers diving experiences around the wreck.

That looks bang on Ron, all the windows look right even though the sunken one is a bit mangled.

You need to go and correct all the divers sites now lol.

Nope, L6 or the 283/307 variants of the small block Chevrolet Could even go to a 255 HP (SAE Gross) 350, depending on the year.

Mind you where a 283, fits so will a 430 stroker. Scary thought given the beam front axle & drum brakes

It's a '68-'70 from the side marker lights on the door.

Well spotted Ron!
