Got hold of this today, nice and cheap kit, no engine detail though and bonnet moulded with body.
will be attempting to "race" it up a bit, sit the wheels out a bit wider, lower it a bit, extend the wheel arches etc.
it won't be "fully race spec" but an amateur track car in effect.
we'll just see how it goes as i'll probably change my mind several time along the way.

Brizio, ive seen it in quite a few model shops in my area (Edinburgh, Scotland) just recently, seems to have "popped up" ... i think its an old kit as well.

Al... yup ... i've been and restocked on styrene tube ... think it'll just be a "roll bar" effect rather than a full cage .. what do you think?

quick update ... just did the wheels for tonight, sprayed them lightly so the chrome edges showed through, i need to just "polish" the edges a little in some places to get it even

Now to study some more images of track cars over a cuppa.

Nope.... the car is way to modern for a roll over hoop Colin. It needs to be at least a six point cage.

Not too hard to do:

And for padding:

Ah well, typical eh, thought I'd get away with something simple.

I studied those threads and based the ministox around the idea.
Should come up with something reasonable.... The tie-offs knots won't be a problem, I tie my own flies so have a little experience there... Phew :-)

Trout or Salmon?

I know it makes sense....... You told me so and you're the boss.... Lol.... I'll try an do your tutorial proud.

Trout mainly, rainbow mostly with the odd nice big brown coming up occasionally... This is on the loch, I will fish for anything on the fly, perch and pike are the best for fighting and they're both edible so bonus.

You're only 100 miles away for some quality loch and sea fishing Al ... hint hint.

Made some card templates (so i got both sides the same) for front and rear spats,
Attached the fronts, they need a little filling, sanding but should look ok when colours on.

Now this is going to be good. Nothing like big arches to improve the look of a car. Nice one Colin.

How far from Loch Ken are you?

Wide arches should look OK, need to pull the wheels out about 3mm per side to look right.

Loch ken's about 85 miles away Al, I'm just south of Edinburgh near the pentland hills.

Trimmed the arches a little and gave it a coat of paint to see the state of the surface after filling (used my favorite medium .... tippex (liquid paper/ white out i think its known in the US?), surprisingly it wasn't bad at all.

Started prepping the other bits and bobs

Its not a very detailed kit but the dash has a little detail that can be picked out.

NICE work on the arches Colin and the dash looks great.

I take it, you are painting it red?

Have you thought about black? Not the easiest colour to pull off but with the red trim on the wheels and a red cage, I think it would look stunning!!!

Just my tuppence worth.

I'm just using red to show up any imperfections, I seem to be able to pick up better with red.

I'm intending on spraying it a dark charcoal with a very slight flake in it, and yes I think the cage needs to be red... It'll match the interior nicely, maybe with some black padding and red cable ties??

What do you think?

Yeah..... I'll go with that, just do a bit of a refurb in the interior and add a bit more black on the panels to even it up or it'll be too red in there.

Good idea batman!

Looks like Sam thinks we sound like a couple of student interior designers Al heh heh heh.

Got the seats base colour on, i added some bicarb into the paint mix to give it a bit of texture, the camera shows the texture off more than the human eye picks up unfortunately.

going to make the harness up this afto.

Cheers Bruce.

got the cage mocked up, just need to take it off (carefully) and glue/sand it properly for a coat of paint.

started the seat belts for the harness ... yep, yellow.... nowt like having an "in your face" colour contrast.
