Ok, you see a trend by now. lol I wanted to improve on my dirt track style racer, so I built a series of them. The 40 ford was my first one, this was my second one, and the ferrari was my third one. This is one of the AMT Modified Stockers series. The tires that came with the kit were the two piece hard plastic and HUGE when on the car, so they got binned for some replacements from the parts box. I actually built this one pretty close to OOB.

Here are the wheels, and I opened up the grille so i could add a screen.

I added rub strips down both sides of the car.

painted and washed the wheels.

Buick Wildcat - what a boat.

Good choice, Sam.

Thanks everyone.

Here is the finished interior. Box stock, other than the addition of the netting.

Engine compartment with wires...

Painted...

...and decaled.

I built this one myself a few years ago and thought it a terrible kit.

You did a good job with it though.

Super job! A racier air cleaner would be my only addition. The wheel/tire foto shows what a little brush paint and a thin wash of black can do to make it look real. Oh, and some battle damage would make it look less a newbie. THANX!

Yes, this model was part of my learning curve into dirt track race car subjects....and weathering.

Is this better?

Dirt Track cars look like fun builds - I guess I'll have to have a go sometime !

Ron, this is an ancient kit, but Sam has made a silk purse from the sows ear. The real pity is that AMT modified the tooling from a street car version. I'd much rather have the street version.

End of rant (for now!)
