PostSubject: 1930 Ford Model A Coupe Bootlegger   Tue 24 Dec 2013, 12:53 am

Well it's finished on time for my self imposed Christmas deadline.

The Riley OHV engine was supplied by a member on another site as the kit engine has all those horrible molded in doodads!! YUCK!!!

The little guy started life at probably around a scale 5'10" or thereabouts but had legs bent at about 30 degrees or so. By the time I got them straightened he lost height and now scales out at a tad over 5'. LOL. So we'll just think of him as the bootleggers early teens son doing one of his many chores.

Apart from the engine and trannie, the rest of this rather ancient Monogram kit is rather nice. Very little flash and no real fit issues.

Apart from the plug leads, coil and coil lead, the only other non kit issue are the radiator braces. As usual, the kit ones were way over thick.

It's 1937, somewhere in the backwoods of Michican. The Great Depression is over but a new one has flared up during the recovery and times are hard once again for Harry Baker and his family.

It's high summer, dry, dusty and hot in the backwoods and Harry must bring in extra money if his family is to survive so he has once again turned to running Moonshine.

Last night was a hard dusty run and Harry had a little too much to drink when he returned home and has ordered Billy Bob to load up the car ready for to-nights run.

Nicely done Al. The theme of the mini diorama works just perfect. Good job of dirtying things up also. Looks like it has been run hard.

Excellent job Al. The tarp makes it.

I also love the tarp on the car. It adds a lot to the scene. The "dusting" looks fantastic. Great job Al.

Thanks guys.

Yeah!... the tarp may have been the result of a botch up but it does fir right in there and bring it to-gether methinks.
