This has been on the bench for about a year now, gets a poke and a prod now & then that could be called progress.

Being built as a club racer / track day car.
Cut off the rear wheel wells to fit the larger tyres.

And used them to make mini tubs for tyre clearance

Had to clearance the inside of the body as well

Lowered the front end

Made lowering blocks and new leaf springs from styrene strip for the rear

Filled unused holes in the chassis

Stance set, modified front and rear spoilers from the Monogram '70 Boss 302 Mustang.

Making racing oriented door cards

Made some higher seat mounts as they sat too low

Great start Steve but to me those wheels don't look right. It needs Torques or Minilites IMO.

Thanks guys.

Al, I did buy some resin minilites for it about 5 years ago (from thepartsbox.com), but after seeing nearly every build over the years (and on 1:1 cars as well) with the 2 wheel options you mentioned, I decided I had to do something different. Also why it's a club racer, don't have to be period perfect. Just something built for weekend fun. Tarmac Rallies are popular here so it will be a roadworthy car as well. A rhd conversion might also get done.

Will probably use the minilites on a mid '60s Fairlane or Comet I have.

Hi Steve,

As said that stance really, really suits this, I think Ford should have made it like this to start with...
